The program threw another error. I glanced at the message and quickly switched over to the editor window.
“You have a syntax error.”
A finger pointed to an empty space in my locals declaration where there should have been a “=>” symbol.
I looked up from my screen to turn and face the bug spotter sitting next to me.
“It’s over there on line 7,” he said.
I thanked the stranger and quickly typed in the missing “=>” rocket.
A sudden “Approaching Embarcadero Station” loudspeaker announcement didn’t give me time to chat with my newfound coding partner but I left the train car musing that pair programming must be one of the lesser known benefits of riding BART in the morning.
